Decompression Therapy Facts
|
- Decompression is a very gentle distraction of the spine. This
allows for improved blood flow and also allows nutrients to
get to the injured area.
- The machine oscillates back and forth between a maximum
pull and a minimum pull. This process starts out
slowly, and comes to a peak over a few minutes.
|
- Decompression treatments generally last around 20 minutes. A
number of patients feel relief after only 8-10 treatments. **IMPORTANT** A
decrease in pain DOES NOT mean you are completely healed,
it is VERY IMPORTANT that patients follow the FULL treatment
the Doctor has prescribed to achieve maximum benefit.
- Spinal Decompression is a non-surgical, pain-free treatment
with a very high success rate for the reduction of back and
neck pain.
- Spinal Decompression treats many problems, such as low
back pain, neck pain, sciatica, pinched nerves, bulging discs,
and degenerative disc disease.
- Imbibition is the stretching and relaxing of the spine, this
is how normal discs get their nutrition. By stretching
and relaxing, nutrients are taken into the disc
- This is often lost in damaged or degenerative disc conditions.
-
With poor imbibition the disc is much more likely to become
painful and injured. Spinal Decompression mimics normal
imbibition and can help restore normal imbibition in the
spine.
- With a bulged disc, spinal decompression creates such a dramatic
decrease in pressure on the disc it can actually help pull the
bulge back in and help relieve pressure on the pinched nerve.
